CEO of Hi-Z Technology, Inc.
Hi-Z is pursuing space power generators and low-cost development of thermoelectrics for numerous waste heat applications. The company is producing 9, 14, and 20 Watt modules for commercial applications that are fabricated with Bi2Te3 based alloys. Programs Hi-Z has initiated include:
- The 1 kW waste heat recovery generator for trucks
- The ongoing 40 milliWatt power supplies being developed by DOE for Mars applications
- The very promising multilayer quantum wells which have shown that the various alternating materials of Si/SiGe and B4C/B9C can increase conversion efficiencies several fold
- The development of a small thermoelectric generators ranging from 300 mW to 25 Watts
